BlogRush Enters Phase 2 With Some Clean-up

A few posts back we had the news that 10,000 plus blogs were ditched by BlogRush in an effort to "clean up" the entire network. Those that did not meet their new quality guidelines were shown the door.

As promised, BlogRush's founder John Reese has announced that their massive "Phase 2" is now active. If you still have your account, you'll now see the new-look Dashboard, new reports, and the new widget sizes that many had asked for plus a few other things.

I had dropped the old widget earlier on but I'll give this new size a shot despite a lot of scepticism among bloggers. We'll see how it goes. As size goes, you have two choices (not much though) -- one is x175 and the other is x120. I'm using the later on the sidebar.

Reese recommends that you watch a new video that explains how you can use the new Dashboard. Oh well, there are new additions to the Dashboard and according to Reese, they are "not done yet."

Take it one step at a time - and don't rush!

I guess it's good I didn't jump into BlogRush to start with. I didn't even have to worry about being kicked out. :)

I used to have an account with BlogRush a few months back and it got deleted in their clean-up efforts. Needless to say, I'm not happy about it, and I'd never touch them again with a 10 foot pole.

You need to reread that latest email from BlogRush. You aren't showing the widget above the fold so you'll probably be kicked out of the program during the upcoming second purge of unworthy blogs.

If you want to stay in the program, create a "made for affiliate offers" site but make sure put the BlogRush widget front and center. That way you'll stay in while others are kicked out.

Interesting if you get referrals even if you delete the widget you still get syndicated :o !

I ran it for about a month on my main blog but I was completely underwhelmed by it. It was pretty much a pile of crap.

It hardly brought me a "rush of targeted traffic".

I tried blogrush when it first came out, but I hate its pyramid scheme. I wrote an article about this: The Rich Get Richer and the Poor Get Poorer - http://newestonthenet.com/blogrush-the-rich-get-richer-and-the-poor-get-poorer/

> frank c: Thanks. I'm aware of it but sometimes you just can't keep pushing it up the page because of other factors. I'm giving it a couple of months and we'll see how things go.

While I like the new stuff on blogrush, I've hardly seen the spike in traffic that they used to to attract me to sign up. But I don't know, maybe it will take more time, so I'm leaving the widget on my site to see what happens

There's just too many sites competing for bloggers attention that I really don't know if it makes sense anymore, lol.

Well they can always kick out whom they don't like but we can also not participate... after all its all about option, who wins in the end will determine how the game is played in the future.
